We are a small but dedicated group with a passion for preserving Vermont's Civil War heritage, and educating the public about Vermont's important role during this trying time in our nation's history. If anyone has any comments or suggestions regarding this site or regarding Vermont's rich Civil War history, please click on the Contact button. 3rd Vermont Infantry Monument Dedication Saturday October 10, 2009 in Newport News Virginia A group of approximately fifty people attended the dedication ceremony for new monument honoring the 3rd Vermont Infantry's participation in the Battle of Dam #1 in Newport News, Virginia on Saturday, October 10, 2009. The 18th Vermont would like to thank all of the individuals and groups that donated to the cause. Because of you this project was possible!

Civil War Expo 2008 The Twelfth Annual Civil War Expo was held on Saturday September 27, 2008 in Chester, VT. The Eighteenth Vermont would like to thank all of the attendees, volunteers, and participants for helping to make the event a success despite the less then ideal weather conditions.

Eighteenth Vermont's 2005 Civil War Expo Named Reenactment of the Year The 2005 Civil War Expo was recently named the Civil War Preservation Trust's 2005 Reenactment of the year. Five Thousand dollars from the proceeds of the Civil War Expo were donated to the CWPT for the purchase of lands where Vermonters fought at the Petersburg battle field in Petersburg, VA. .Eighteenth Vermont trustee Charlie Martin traveled to Tennessee where the award was presented to the Eighteenth Vermont Regiment on April 22 during the 2006 CWPT Annual Conference held at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis.
18th VT trustee, Charlie Martin receives the 2005 Reenactment of the Year Award from CWPT President James Lighthizer. _________________________________________ Jack Anderson presented with the 2006 Full Duty Award Jack Anderson of Woodstock, VT. Was presented with the 2006 Full Duty Award at the tenth annual Full Duty Banquet held April 8, 2006 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Montpelier, VT. The Full Duty Award is presented annually by the Vermont Civil War Council to a person or organization to recognize their outstanding achievements in helping to preserve Vermont’s Civil War History. Anderson was one of the founding members of the Green Mountain Civil War Roundtable, and serves as its President. Jack was also one of the founding members of the Vermont Civil War Council, and served as the primary planner and the Master of Ceremonies of the Fully Duty Banquet for several years. Additionally, Jack teaches college classes in Civil War History, and he serves as the director of the Woodstock, VT. Historical Society.

Author of, American Bruits John Wilkes Booth and the Lincoln Conspiracies, was the guest speaker at the banquet.
